Carmen García (she/her/ella) is a Program Officer at the Irving Harris Foundation working with our grant partners in Early Childhood.  She has spent her career advocating for children, families, and people of color.  She has promoted community engagement and entrepreneurship by supporting women-owned small businesses and assisting the uninsured access public benefits to cover medical expenses.  She worked in state government serving families in the Child Care Assistance Program.  Prior to joining the Irving Harris Foundation, she worked in Illinois early childhood policy for nearly nine years.
